Lei Liang came from Beijing to study in the United States when he was 17. His
music has been performed in Germany, France, Netherlands, Great Britain,
Canada, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, United States and China. Lei Liang writes
articles and gives lectures regularly on Chinese music. In 1998, Lei Liang
completed his master’s degree in composition at the New England Conservatory,
and was appointed a Junior Fellow at the Harvard University Society of
Fellows---the highest honor bestowed by the University to a young scholar. Lei
Liang was named an Honorary Professor of Composition and Sound Design at the
Wuhan Conservatory of Music, China in 2000. Lei Liang is currently completing
a Ph.D. at Harvard University, studying with Mario Davidovsky.
