Sue-Ya Wang was born in Taipei City, Taiwan in 1965. In 1988 she passed a
scholarship examination sponsored by the Ministry of Education, R.O.C. for
a four-year scholarship to study in France, where she studied composition
and computer music with José Luis Campana at the Université
d'Orsey. She also studied music with Yoshihisa Taïra and Alain Weber
at
the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and composition with Alain Bancquart
at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et Danse de Paris.
In 1993 she studied composition and instrumentation with Klaus Huber and Gerard
Grisey in Avignon. In 1994 she was awarded the Yoshiro Irino Memorial Prize
for Thème et variations pour violoncelle et piano.In 1996 she was awarded
second prize in 'Music Taipei' for Dans les bois.
