Chao-Ming Tung was born at 1969 in Taiwan.
He studied composition, tuba and piano in the Chinese-Culture-University,
continuing his composition studies in Germany from 1990 to 1999, first at
the Musikhochschule Köln with Prof. Johannes Fritsch and Prof. Mauricio
Kagel, and later at the Folkwang-Hochschule Essen with Nicolaus A. Huber,
where he graduated with distinction. Over the years, he has received numerous
composition prizes and scholarships. In 1999, he was awarded with the Bernd
Alois Zimmermann Scholarship for Composers from the City of Cologne. Since
2001, he has worked with the dancer René Pieters and the painter Annegret
Heinl. Chao-Ming currently lives in Cologne.
