AsianCultureLink was founded in 1999 to initiate and support cultural exchanges between Asian and Western countries. Our aim is to introduce Asian cultures to a new public and to foster creative collaborations between Asian and Western artists. AsianCultureLink uses intensive publicity and marketing to promote its events and to increase public awareness of this cross-cultural dialogue.
AsianCultureLink has been initializing and organizing intercultural music projects with the Taiwanese ensemble China Found Music Workshop Taipei. The group recently performed the opening concert of the festival MaerzMusik 2002 in Berlin (Berlin Festivals). It has also performed at the Vienna Concert house (Hörgänge Festival 2000), at the German Broadcasting Station Cologne (Deutschlandfunk) and the Music Biennale Zagreb (2001) and at the ORF Radiokulturhaus Vienna (Austrian Broadcasting Station, 1999). Since 2001 AsianCultureLink has been hosting its own concert series cross//roads at Porgy and Bess, Vienna.
